About Us
Mutual of Omaha was founded in 1909. Since that time, this Midwestern insurance organization has grown to national recognition. In 2007, the Mutual of Omaha family of companies paid nearly $2.9 billion in all insurance and annuity benefits to its customers, and more than $11 million in benefits to policyholders under cancer plans. Over the last 10 years, Mutual of Omaha paid over $122 million in claims to insureds covered under all cancer plans.
Mutual of Omaha is currently rated A+ (Superior) by A.M. Best as of June 2007. That is the second highest of 16 rating levels. A.M. Best is an independent rating firm that grades insurance companies on their overall financial strength and ability to meet ongoing obligations to customers.
